International Yoga Day 21 June

"Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and nature,"

The words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, in his maiden address to the United Nations General Assembly, calling for the adoption of an International Day of Yoga, and describing Yoga as an invaluable gift to humankind.

I have been honoured to offer Community Dru Yoga sessions to participants from 8yrs old to 80+ yrs old at the Peterborough Bharat Hindu Samaj, supported and funded by the Sanskiriti Club.

On International Yoga Day we formed a community circle, enjoyed partner work and group support for balancing poses, then finished with the Dru Anahata breath (the Heart breath) to send peace out into the world.

Namaste
