About The Event

'The Spaces Between' - improving our assimilation of knowledge by 'doing nothing' for a while. The theme of this seminar is inspired by a study* which concludes that a period of quiet reflection is as effective as a period of sleep in terms of improving our understanding and assimilation of knowledge. This ties in with the concept of the Dru 'still point', the point at which body/mind/spirit align to embody that perfect moment of silent stillness, sometimes called Samadhi (the bliss state). Our day will explore these moments of stillness after movement, using both physical movement (asana, gentle flowing sequences) and sound (breath, simple mantras) to bring us to the still point within. There will also be the opportunity to sink completely into stillness with one of the deep, guided relaxation sessions that Dru is famed for. This workshop is hosted by Leicestershire Yoga Circle. Workshop Part One 10.30.am - 12.30. (Lunch 12.30. - 1.30.pm followed by LYC AGM 1.30. - 2pm) Workshop Part Two 2pm - 4pm Limited spaces available, to comply fully with Covid safety practices - event may be re-scheduled at short notice depending on government guidelines
